Background of the Dish

Gluten-Free Chicken Noodle Soup, overhead photo

Gluten-free chicken noodle soup recipes were developed around the late 1980s, once GF types of pasta became available for everyone to buy.

It is almost the same as the classic Spanish noodle chicken soup, with the difference that you have to be sure to use gluten-free ingredients, keeping a close eye on the noodles and broth.

Nowadays, gluten-free alternatives to beloved soups are more popular, like the famous fish noodle soup, but the Spanish chicken soup was in charge of paving the way for them.

Once you finish preparing this recipe for Spanish chicken soup, you will be able to serve it right away for lunch or dinner as a wonderful main dish.

Most of the Spanish chicken soups go perfectly well with different toppings, and you can do the same for this one but make sure that all of them are gluten-free.

For example, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream to add creaminess and tanginess to the soup, as well as a decorative touch.

Like other Spanish soup recipes, the gluten-free chicken noodle soup blends perfectly with grated Parmesan, cheddar, or Manchego cheese for an extra savory flavor profile.

Similar to the decadent Spanish seafood soup, you can contrast the savoriness by adding fresh chopped herbs, like parsley, cilantro, or chives on top of the soup.

And try the white fish soup as well, a creamy fish soup recipe with potatoes and vegetables.
