Last Minute Trip to Spain: Everything You Need to Know

Last Minute Trip to Spain tips and tricks!

What comes to your mind when you think about Southern Spain? Is it paella, sunny beaches, Gaudi, or maybe flamenco?

In any case, we can all agree on one thing: Spain is the number one destination for embarking on unexpected adventures through its diverse landscapes, rich culture, and mouthwatering food.

And if you’re thinking about getting that last-minute trip to the city of contrasts – just do it.

In most cases, there are fantastic cost savings, spanning to 70% off on the travel and accommodation costs.

So, why not Discover Spain on a whim with Voyage Privé

Here are our favourite destinations in Spain. And yes, this is not Barcelona, Madrid, or Valencia.

Pssst…??!! You can’t get enough Spain posts? Have a look at my other posts:

Ares del Maestre, Castellon

Located between Barcelona and Valencia, Ares del Maestre is a rocky hill that offers magnificent views of the “Maestrazgo” landscape.

In this city (that dates back to the 14th century), you can find narrow streets and a historic castle from which you can glimpse the region’s breathtaking landscapes.

Plus, don’t miss Museo de la Cueve del Castillo. It’s not a museum but a shelter carved from rocks that inhabitants use to survive for over a year.

Agüero, Huesca

Agüero, or as locals call it, Aragon, is a fantastic village surrounded by gigantic 200-meter-high rock formations, also known as Los Mallos.

So, what can you do in Aragon? First, visit the 12th-century Santiago church with stained glass windows.

You can discover the area if you’re into climbing or love picturesque views.

Rumours say it’s popular among Instagram and TikTok users, so be prepared for the crowds.

Plus, the city holds festivals in mid-August. If you want to discover Agüero from a different perspective (entertainment, theatre, music, and local cuisine), now you know the best time to come.

La Alberca, Salamanca

For history lovers, Outlander fans, and those who love to travel back in time, La Alberca is the place to go.

This village in the Sierra de Francia mountains features medieval architecture with half-timbered houses.

The city is also famous for its cured meats—yes, the one and only one—jamón ibérico. You can often find it in many restaurants, and some even host a degustation. And don’t forget to bring some home!

Apart from gastronomical delights, it is an excellent base for hiking enthusiasts.

And for those who are into festivals — save the date. In May, there is the Fiestas de la Santa Cruz, where villagers dress in traditional costumes.

The best time to travel to Spain? Now!

And to answer your question about when to travel to sunny-kissed Spain, there is no bad time (unless you come in a heat wave in July).

Generally, we recommend traveling midweek rather than on the weekend, as more affordable options exist. Plus, be open to visiting different cities, sightseeing attractions, and beaches.

Remember to book the hotel and accommodation in advance. In Voyage Privé, you will find the best deals for the season, so check it before embarking on the adventure.

Have you had your sombrero already? Bon Voyage!
