  1. The first step in this garlic mushrooms recipe is to clean the mushrooms. In most cases, the fresh mushrooms come with dirt and you have to remove it from them. To make it easier just wash them with cold water, then place them in a bowl with cold water and a squeeze of lemon so they don’t get a bitter taste.
  1. Then, cut the mushrooms into slices and do the same with the garlic cloves. It is better to make thin slices, but you can choose any size of your choice.
  1. Now brown the garlic in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Just until they’re a little golden.
  1. After that, add the sliced mushrooms.
  1. For the cooking process sauté your garlic mushrooms for a few minutes and then add the white wine. Increase the heat of the stove so that the alcohol evaporates.
  1. Now add a splash of vinegar and the chopped fresh parsley. Add a little salt and pepper or any seasoning of your choice. Keep in mind that the garlic and parsley already work as seasonings.
  1. For the final step let it cook until all the liquid (or most of it) evaporates. If you want that liquid to become a sauce for your Spanish mushroom tapas, just add one tablespoon of flour to thicken it.
  1. Serve your pan-fried Spanish mushroom recipe warm.

Substitution of Ingredients

The main ingredients that cannot be missing from your Spanish garlic mushrooms are garlic, mushrooms, and olive oil.

You can replace the oil with 4 tablespoons of butter, you just have to melt it before adding the garlic (it will give this Spanish mushroom tapas a more buttery flavor).

Replace the white wine with another type of wine, or with a vegetable broth. The broth is a great help if you want to avoid cooking with alcohol.

You can remove the garlic and parsley, although they give a characteristic flavor to this dish.

Follow the steps of other garlic mushroom recipes, and add more vegetables such as onion or bell peppers to give it more color.
